When is it okay to delete a family/member record?

In general, Gabriel does not recommend that you delete family records. If you have duplicate family records, we suggest that you send in a merge request to support@gabrielsoft.com instead. This is because the family may have older contribution data that you did not see on your current screen. If the family no longer attends your parish, you can assign them the appropriate family status.

Note: If you have a family that registered online (New Register status) and they already have an existing family record, you can delete the new record once you've updated the older one.  

If you have duplicate member records, you can delete one of the member records after you've made sure all relevant information is in the other one. If you have members that do not attend your parish, you can assign them the appropriate member status.
